For the second time, the Mesalvo FUTURE HEALTH Summit took place – establishing itself as an important forum for exchange. The integration of the CC-MED user group into the event format further strengthened the summit’s practical orientation. The increased interest was also reflected in the number of participants: the number of external attendees was around 45% higher than in the previous year.

Close Exchange with Users and Strategic Focus

Already on the first morning, it became clear how intensive the professional dialogue was this year. At the Customer Executive Steering Group Meeting, management and a selected group of customers discussed key future topics such as cloud strategies, the Hospital Care Improvement Act (KHVVG), and the product roadmap.

With its annual user meeting – and its 10th anniversary – the CC-MED user group was already present before the official start. For more than ten years, it has been an important driver for the further development of Mesalvo solutions and will be opened to all Mesalvo customers in the future. The goal is to gradually expand it into the central HealthCentre user group.

During the summit, CEO Holger Cordes emphasized the importance of cross-sector cooperation:
“We are operating in an exceptionally dynamic environment – and successful healthcare delivery can only be achieved if cross-sector collaboration is strengthened. Strategic openness is essential for this.”

Inspiration and Professional Highlights

One of the thematic highlights was the keynote by Prof. Dr. David Matusiewicz: “Digitalization in Healthcare – Between Established Stagnation and Limitless Imagination.” It opened the subsequent panel discussion in which, alongside Prof. Dr. Matusiewicz, Dr. Alexander Haering from RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, Markus Großmann from the Hessing Foundation Augsburg and Board Member of the CC-MED User Group e.V., Dr. Georg Langebartels, Chief Digital Officer of Klinikum Lippe, and Mesalvo CEO Holger Cordes discussed digital potential, economic conditions, and key challenges for hospitals.

Strategy, Interaction, and Concrete Use Cases

The second summit day focused entirely on strategic course-setting and concrete professional use cases. Central future topics in healthcare IT were at the forefront, including the Clinical Data Repository (CDR) as the basis for modern hospital architectures, the use of artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and digital solutions for oncology.

In expert and partner presentations, it was shown how real patient intelligence emerges from structured patient data. For example, Contextflow demonstrated how AI-based predictive models can contribute to the early detection and prevention of serious diseases. With MC³ Oncology, an end-to-end solution was presented that digitally supports oncological therapy processes throughout. A scientific perspective was contributed by Dr. Florian Eisold with the presentation of the analysis tool IMHIS (Impact Monitor for Health Information Systems), which evaluates the measurable benefits of health IT in everyday clinical practice.

The content focus was complemented by partner contributions, including regulatory requirements such as NIS-2, as well as insights into Mesalvo’s cloud and platform strategy.

With HealthCentre Cortex, Mesalvo presented its strategic platform for data integration and innovation, which brings together clinical and administrative data and creates a unified foundation for proprietary solutions and partner applications. The central message of the day: the future of healthcare IT will not be defined by merely storing data, but by using it intelligently, securely, and interoperably.

Positive Feedback and Clear Impulses for the Future

At a professional level, the summit also received consistently positive customer feedback. The successful combination of strategic content and hands-on breakout sessions was particularly highlighted. Discussions made it clear how important it is to users to actively contribute their concrete requirements and expectations to Mesalvo.

Great recognition was also given to the presentation on the NIS-2 directive and the concrete use cases for the application of artificial intelligence. From the customer perspective, it was additionally confirmed that a Clinical Data Repository as a central data base is an essential foundation for the digital future of every hospital. The professional exchange was complemented by diverse networking opportunities as well as a vibrant evening event at MainDock.

Dr. Lars Dannecker, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Mesalvo, summarized his impressions with a view to the future as follows:
“In the exchange with customers at the summit, we heard that courage is a key factor for digital progress in healthcare. The cloud is the gateway to modern technologies such as AI – it enables new analyses and can sustainably improve patient health.”

Outlook: To Be Continued

The FUTURE HEALTH Summit 2025 was characterized by intensive discussions, valuable professional exchanges, and genuine enthusiasm for innovation. At the same time, concrete input was gathered for further development – particularly the desire for even more hands-on use cases. This feedback is already being incorporated into the planning for 2026. Due to the positive response, Mesalvo will continue the format and will once again invite participants to the Mesalvo FUTURE HEALTH Summit next November.
