Starting with the reporting of breast implantations, the notification to the Implant Register Germany (IRD) will be legally mandatory for all healthcare institutions from 01.07.2024.
The goal is to reduce the risks associated with implantations and to gain information on the quality of implants and medical care involving implants. The existing medical device vigilance and implant market surveillance will be supplemented, and the register will provide a foundation for healthcare statistics and further scientific research.
You should not miss this event if:
... you already perform breast implantations or plan to do so in the future and are therefore subject to the reporting obligation.
