The signing of the partnership agreement in early 2024 marks the beginning of a promising collaboration aimed at optimizing processes in everyday nursing and sustainably increasing patient safety.

Modern medication management: mobile, process-optimized & without information loss

With Mesalvo’s medication and curve solution, nursing staff carry out prescriptions, administrative tasks, and orders. Thanks to the Medanets app, patient and medication information is now scanned directly at the bedside and automatically transferred into the Mesalvo digital curve. Nursing staff enter measurement data, such as blood pressure, directly into the app, and this flows into Mesalvo’s digital curve without information loss. Error-prone intermediate steps, such as paper documentation – still common in German hospitals – are thus eliminated.

Fast decision support in emergencies – interplay of digital curve and app in everyday nursing

In practice, this means: Using barcode scanning via tablet or smartphone, nursing staff can directly scan the barcode of the patient and the required medication at the bedside before administration – quickly, easily, and securely. Precise patient identification when administering medication ensures that the right medication is given to the right person at the right time, minimizing mix-ups and errors.

The digital curve gives nursing staff a comprehensive overview of patient data, including vital parameters, medication, and pain progression. In combination with assessments, e.g., via an Early Warning Score within the Medanets app, staff can assess the patient’s condition. Depending on the result, the app displays clinical instructions, such as “The patient's condition appears to be deteriorating. Please inform a doctor immediately.” Based on the score, a "Sepsis Bundle" (a series of immediate measures to improve treatment and management of patients with sepsis) can also be initiated to ensure quick and appropriate treatment and prevent life-threatening complications. This way, workflows are triggered and documentation and decision processes supported.

Safe drug therapy: Closed-Loop-Medication-Management process with Mesalvo

The interaction of Unit Dose with AMTS functionalities and Meona curve medication, in combination with the Medanets app, revolutionizes the medication process in hospitals and ensures even safer drug administration for patients. The prescription in the digital curve enables connected unit or multi-dose dispensers to package standard medications individually for each patient and deliver them to the ward. This automated medication delivery replaces the manual, error-prone setup process on the ward, increases patient safety through software validation mechanisms, and saves valuable time for the nursing staff.

The Closed-Loop Medication process ends at the bedside – the barcode on the medication bag is scanned, matched with the patient data directly at the bed, and entered into the patient curve so that mix-ups are ruled out.

The partnership between Mesalvo and Medanets promotes effective collaboration and holistic patient care, while increasing efficiency in everyday nursing and improving working conditions.
