Merger of i-SOLUTIONS Health and Meona successfully completed

Following antitrust approval by the Federal Cartel Office, it is now official: the merger of i-SOLUTIONS Health and Meona has been completed.

The product portfolio of i-SOLUTIONS Health is being expanded with stand-alone solutions: medication, clinical chart, clinical workplace systems (KAS), patient data management systems (PDMS), emergency department (ED), and video consultation—covering nearly all Hospital Future Act (KHZG) funding criteria.

The two companies operate under the shared umbrella company Mesalvo, which includes the management team and organizational development.

On August 4, the first joint virtual meeting of i-SOLUTIONS Health and Meona took place. Nearly 340 employees attended the digital information session. The management team—composed of PD Dr. Tobias Schäfer, Dr. Matthias Wuttke, Christian Krüger, Dr. Wolrad Rube, and Joachim Schweizer—led the meeting and provided insights into the current developments regarding the merger of the two companies.

“This is, in my view, a brilliant combination—not only because the market did not expect it, but also because these are two companies that complement each other beautifully and perfectly complete each other's product portfolios. This is a very special opportunity we have,” explained PD Dr. Tobias Schäfer, CEO of the Meona Group, regarding the successful merger. The two companies i-SOLUTIONS Health and Meona will now operate under a shared umbrella company called Mesalvo. i-SOLUTIONS Health GmbH, with its subsidiary DATAPEC GmbH, and the Meona Group, with its Belgian subsidiary E.care, will continue to operate as independent entities.

“We want to accelerate as a unified company and are relying on our dedicated employees. We are tackling the transformation process together,” said Dr. Wolrad Rube, CEO of i-SOLUTIONS Health. The management team also emphasized that the companies will grow in terms of personnel due to the new circumstances. They aim for healthy and sustainable growth. The companies are expected to mutually enhance one another, with the goal of creating a new, innovative, and comprehensive system for patient care. Patient care is to become safer, more efficient, and more effective. i-SOLUTIONS Health enables organizations to work more efficiently in areas such as patient administration, billing, ERP (with modules for financial accounting, asset accounting, cost accounting, inventory management), radiology and laboratory management, and through DATAPEC, in anesthesiology and emergency medicine. Meona optimally supports users in clinical processes in wards, including in outpatient clinics, clinical charts, medication, clinical decision support, and medical knowledge.

The Hospital Future Act (KHZG) provides the framework for future hospital investments. The joint product portfolio of the companies is excellently complementary and perfectly aligned with the KHZG’s eligible funding categories. For example, the ClinicCentre E.care ED stand-alone solution for emergency departments (ED) is eligible under KHZG funding category 1 “Digitalization of Emergency Care.” Users benefit from a market-leading solution that minimizes administrative effort in emergency departments, aids in triage, and provides staff with all relevant information via a central cockpit and a patient timeline. The software solution is closely aligned with medical processes and eases the stressful daily work of clinicians. It is available both as a stand-alone solution and with reference connections to all common HIS systems, such as ClinicCentre.

In addition to the ED solution, the product portfolio includes other stand-alone solutions also eligible under the KHZG. These include a comprehensive digital medication management system, efficient digital documentation of nursing and treatment services (clinical chart), a clinical workplace system (KAS), a patient data management system (PDMS) for intensive care, and telemedicine solutions such as video consultations or video-supported consultations for patients in outpatient care. The two companies share a vision of improving and securing patient care.

i-SOLUTIONS Health will continue to keep its customers updated on developments related to the merger. Web seminars on the new solutions are already planned. In addition, exciting podcasts on the topic will be published.
